The NAKOA Logo was crafted about 25 years ago to capture the stately warrior image that embodies our cultural values. The Mahiole (warrior helmet) shown atop its head symbolizes the highest rank of warrior worn by the makini or warrior society who were entrusted to protect their high chief. The petroglyph form of the warrior, together with a spear crossing diagonally, represents the value of safety and protection of its leader as well as his fellow chiefs, warriors and the Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians). The logo is intended to signify the Hawaiian Cultural Values of Kinaole (Flawlessness), Ka Lokahi (Unity & Balance) and Ahonui (perseverance). They are strong fundamentals for any successful organization.
